We take the safety and security of our customers very seriously. Unfortunately, there have been instances where fraudsters have been pretending to be TravelMaster on social media to deceive our customers. We're here to help you stay safe and informed, and we’ve put together some guidelines to help you identify and report fraudulent activity.
How to Spot Fraudulent Messages Pretending to Be TravelMaster
Fraudulent accounts or messages may attempt to impersonate TravelMaster or our team to steal your personal information or money. Here are some key signs to look out for:
- Unsolicited Messages - We do not contact customers randomly on social media platforms for personal details, account verification, or payment requests. Be cautious if you receive unsolicited messages from accounts claiming to be TravelMaster.
- Suspicious Links or Attachments - Fraudulent messages may contain links that lead to fake websites that steal your information. Always check the URL carefully and avoid clicking on unfamiliar links.
- Unusual Requests - Be wary of requests for personal information (such as passwords, or banking details). TravelMaster will never ask for such sensitive information through social media channels.
- Fake Offers or Promotions - If the offer seems too good to be true, it probably is. Scammers often use enticing offers or prizes to lure customers into providing personal information or making payments.
What to Do If You Suspect Fraud
If you believe you’ve encountered a fraudulent account or message, follow these steps:
- Do Not Respond or Engage - Do not reply to, click on links, or download attachments from suspicious messages.
- Report the Account to Us - Report the fraudulent account directly to us by calling 0800 952 0002, emailing [email protected] or by completing the TravelMaster Fraudulent Activity Reporting Form linked here: TravelMaster Fraudulent Activity Reporting Form Link
- Report to Action Fraud - Action Fraud is the UK's national reporting centre for fraud and cybercrime, where individuals in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland can report incidents of scams, online fraud, or other cybercrime to the police; essentially, it's a platform to report fraudulent activity to the authorities, allowing them to analyze and potentially investigate further if needed. You can visit the website through this link: www.actionfraud.police.uk
Fraud can also be directly reported on social media platforms (for example, Facebook, Instagram, X and Twitter). Each platform has a mechanism for reporting phishing or impersonation accounts.
